Our Story

Hi there! My name is Sarah, aka Zelda’s mom ☺

I have always had a passion for animals and doing all that I could to help. I started volunteering at my local shelter when I was 17 and just haven’t stopped since! It started with just doing weekend adoption events and then going to the shelter every chance I could to walk dogs. I then began to foster - dogs & cats! I am a single adult now who works full time just trying to make it by in this crazy world. With that I don’t have a lot of extra time, unfortunately, so I wanted to come up with a way to still help and give back. This is when I came up with Zelda’s Mission! Zelda is the first baby I adopted in 2014. Since her, I have adopted two other dogs – all of whom are still with me. And lately, I’ve kept a solid rotation of always having a fourth dog being a foster! So, you can imagine how busy I stay. The hardest part with fostering is when you live a busy lifestyle you don’t have time to go to a lot of events or take your dog out all the time for exposure. So, I was talking to a rescue coordinator one day who told me to try dressing my dogs up in their photos! Just a simple bandana helps get the dog shared so much more than a regular picture. I thought well I’ll just make some! Then began my love of sewing and making beautiful accessories for my fur babies. Also, this is what started my idea of collecting donations to donate to local rescues and shelters paired with some bandanas or accessories for their babies to get better exposure!
